Cat Toilet Training: How to use Amber Training Disc without cat litter

This update is long overdue because obviously, it has been months and months since I updated it. Don’t blame me, blame Momma for being oh so lazy. So, without further due, let’s continue with my cat toilet training using the Litter Kwitter Toilet Training System.

Let me first remind you that my objective for the seventh week of toilet training was to position myself exactly right in the middle of the Amber Training Disc of the Litter Kwitter Toilet Training System. Indeed, I managed to position myself in the middle of the amber disc within a few days without any problem.

A few days later, Momma introduced me to the Green Training Disc of the Litter Kwitter Toilet Training System, as you might expect, eagerly and enthusiastically. Me not so much I hated it. I hated it so much because I could see the water through the Green Training Disc very clearly.

IT WAS SCARY!

And I was like, “NO WAY I am going to put my butt on the green disc and do my business!” So, instead of trying, I just did my business — both pooping and peeing, directly next to the toilet.

Momma kept on bribing me with a lot of treats and encouragement in an attempt to get me onto the Green Disc but NOTHING helped. It did not even help when Momma started to yell out of frustration at me.

NO meant NO. Period!

So, Momma and I spent the next two months switching between the Amber and Green Training Discs of the Litter Kwitter Toilet Training System with a lot of frustrations and disappointments. There was no sign of any progress whatsoever.

At the end of April Momma said to me something like, “You seem quite at ease pooping and peeing on the floor (next to the toilet) without your cat litter. Perhaps, you should learn to do your business on the Amber Disc without your cat litter!”

And I was like, “Whatever, as long as I get my treats after doing my business”.

About a week later, I managed to use the Amber Training Disc of the Litter Kwitter Toilet Training System again using just a little bit of my cat litter. However, this time, Momma stopped adding some fresh cat litter onto the Amber Disc, just like that, until I ran out of the cat litter entirely.

Another week passed very quickly and I seemed to be okay using the Amber Disc without a single piece of cat litter. Before I knew it, I was already used to using the Amber Training Disc of the Litter Kwitter Toilet Training System without my cat litter.

Of course, I still need to dig or at least make some “digging movements” on the Amber Disc of the Litter Kwitter Toilet Training System but that is it.

Today, a few months later, Momma and I live in our new home. I am still using the Amber Training Disc of the Litter Kwitter Toilet Training System without cat litter. Momma says that it is okay for me to keep on using the Amber Disc because the main purpose of my cat toilet training has already been established– well partly.

I am now a litter-free cat using the Amber Training Disc of the Litter Kwitter Toilet Training System. Momma still wants me to learn to use the Green Training Disc but in contrast to the first 6 weeks of my toilet training, there is now no rush, no deadline, no frustration and we will only do things my way, not Momma’s.

As always, Human and I will keep you informed if there are any changes. So, please stay tuned and have a wonderful Tuesday!
